Shore Diving in Curaçao
Curaçao is one of the Caribbean's great shore-diving islands: a near-continuous fringing reef runs close to the leeward coast, so you can gear up on the beach and swim straight to a wall.
The south and west coasts are sheltered from the trade winds, giving calm, clear water most of the year and dozens of marked shore entries. Many beaches double as dive sites — Porto Mari, Playa Kalki, Director's Bay, the Tugboat — and dive shops island-wide rent tanks for self-guided diving. Visibility commonly exceeds 20 metres and the reef begins close to shore.
