Cas Abao Beach
Cas Abao is the postcard beach of the west coast: a curve of powdery white sand, palapas for shade and a house reef that drops off just a short swim out.
About 45 minutes by car from Punda, Cas Abao is a managed beach with a modest entrance fee that keeps it clean and well-equipped — loungers, a beach bar, restrooms, showers and a dive shop. The left side of the bay holds the best snorkelling, where the sandy shallows give way to a coral wall patrolled by parrotfish and the occasional turtle. Mornings are calmest; weekends draw locals.
Good to know
- Arrive before 10am on weekends for a front-row palapa.
- Snorkel the rocky left point for the healthiest coral.
- Bring cash for the entrance fee and the beach bar.
Questions & answers

There is a small per-car or per-person entrance fee, paid in cash at the gate; it covers parking and the maintained facilities.
Is Cas Abao good for snorkelling?
Yes — the reef along the left-hand rocks starts close to shore and drops to a wall, making it one of the more rewarding shore-snorkel spots on the island.
